NEWS - PROTEST IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
PROTEST IN WASHINGTON, D.C. AGAINST SPDC's TREATMENT OF ASSK
Rangoon Post
27 July, 1998
At about 5:50 PM, 11 demonstrators including 1 American demonstrated
accross from the Burmese Embassy in Washington, D.C. for 35 minutes.
This was an immediate response to the SPDC's treatment in Burma as she
has now been a car for 5 days protesting the blockage of her travel to
visit a member of the NLD.
The speeches denounced the SPDC and noted later that they will NEVER
acknowledge the non-elected embassy officials whom are hidding behind
their cameras, Brinks Security system and apparently afraid to come out
and talk to the demonstrators.
The VOA - Burmese section and RFA - Burmese sections both recorded most
of the events that occured this day.
Freedom for all, freedom for the future of the children.
